I'd love a version to run on my windows 8 adam tablet - lighter than the pc version like the os (I would hope).  The problem w/ the iPad is storage is limited - besides, I have a hard time getting it from my wife and she complains that she has no space left for all her iTunes collection and other crap.

What would be cool is the matrix app for ios ported to PC w/ 16 pads, where I could load in my own samples to my pad from a thumb drive instead of drop box.

You may see that someday after it evolves some more. That app is fully cross platform.

When is the Sonar controller ipad app coming out? That would be pretty welcome addition!

Please add section with traditional european note value icons for SV (please x 10000)

I'm interested in the price comparison between the ios synth and the Win version. I thought apps had to be cheap to be successful. Zeta was not cheap.

I am curious about that as well... plus Z3TA+ 2 has a LOT of controls in the UI, so makes me wonder how "touch" works on it too.

Noel,

thanks for info.  I think the apps are great even if Z3TA is a lot cheaper for ios.  And a bigger scratchpad would make it possible combine the two tablets for a live set - just like real instruments.  I like the direction Cake is heading.

Just hope its not a tablet based synth..

amen to that since it will be useless to most of us

Well.... if you run a studio that mostly records other people or you specialize in mastering then you have a valid point. However, if you are a songwriter and you record your own songs then a tablet is very useful indeed. A great way to get ideas down, then go to your DAW. The IK iRig Pro and Amplitude, Audiobus, Multidaw, and Samplitude for iPad or iPhone is really useful and very portable, especially if you don't have a good dedicated space, or have it set up yet... I think a tablet (iPad) and the much cheaper APPs are really helpful.
They are to me. They could never replace a real DAW... at least not this year. I wonder, considering the advancements in technology over the last ten years and how the cost has dropped for what you get if in another 10 years maybe todays DAW will be available on a tablet with some yet to be imagined (by us) hardware. I imagine that the real DAW will still be ahead of the tablet version... but for all we know they will merge... and work.
I mean who would have imagined the tools we have today, at todays prices, even 10 years ago.
But I digress... the tablet and it's DAW tools are great for getting some tracks down to move to the DAW for the real work. I think I'd rather see Dimension for iPad than Z3ta+, then I don't do techno or dance music but I will find a use for it.
The cup is half full, not half empty. You can't stop change but you can be left behind. Still, if you are running a studio as a business I can really see how you would find tablet APPs less than desirable.

I use my iPhone 5 for some stuff, but it is really too small with too little memory.

I could be wrong... but I don't think so but I am not saying you are wrong, I imagine that you are absolutely right for those who run a commercial studio.

I'm not against i-apps in any fashion, and I think it's a great move on CW's part.

That said, I don't own any i-devices or tablets, and even my phone has no data plan.

I have iPad for couple of years. I installed Garage Band on it, I have Novation synth. But in general- I have no use for it in Audio. I would not record on it. I used it to record live events, but to make music on it- I don't think so. Nothing is compatible with anything. To get a file off the garage band- you have to e-mail it to yourself. Seriously? Novation Launchpad and launchkey do not work as VST plugins- they are nice to play with but nowhere to store what you play, so- what's the point? I would not rely on iPad to play backing tracks for the show. Makes nice remote control and reading or MP3 player tool.
