I want to remove an intro (part of an organ track), which is almost one minute in length. Deleted. Yay!
 
Now, I want to CTRL-A to highlight all tracks and then slide everything to the left to make up for the empty space (and avoid trimming the exported mix via SoundForge). Trouble is, I can't move the tracks. They are all waveforms BTW.
 
Also, what about my envelopes? I suppose those will all have to be manually re-done? 

Turn of snap to grid. 

And make sure "select track envelopes with clips" is checked in the track view's options menu.

Sometimes I have noticed that if I CTRL-A to highlight all tracks and then try to slide everything to the left it will not move. What can happen is that when I selected all (ctrl-a) I also selected all the empty space on the left of the tracks and that prevents moving things to the left. So I instead select the tracks with the mouse and then move.

kakku - here's my method, it's a couple clicks.  Once you get the hang of it it's super easy and super surgical.
 
Say you want to remove 50 measures (or whatever your minute of time is) to the left of your remaining material. Note where your good stuff starts, like say measure 50.
 
Click on any track. Then click Control A (select all).
 
Under the Edit menu choose Select By Time.  Select a range of 1 to 50.  Then choose Delete Special and remove the appropriate options (including events and markers).
 
Another scenario, let's say you want to repeat an existing chorus.  Let's say the first chorus goes from measure 16 to 24. 
 
You can Select All again. Select by Time, select a range of 16 to way out there, like 150 (your whole remaining song).
 
Then choose Cut Special (including events and markers). Paste Special, paste at measure 24, include events and markers etc.).  Now you've opened up an 8 bar blank spot between measure 16 and 24.
 
Then, Select All again, Select By Time, choose range of 24 to 32.  Copy Special (include events/markers etc.).  Paste Special at measure 16 (including events/markers).
 
With that process you've surgically added a repeat of a chorus so you now have two back to back.
 
The above is a second use case of how routine and precise Select By Time is for editing sections.  This can be done with single or multiple tracks, or with Select All, and all of the tracks.

This is key. If for example there's an automation node at the beginning of the track, you won't be able to move it any more to the left because as far as SONAR knows, that event signifies the beginning of the track and therefore cannot be moved earlier. If all clips are selected, they're now a group so that one automation node will keep them from moving.

Thanks for the tips Roger. I must say these methods sound a bit complicated, but I am sure they are good after learning them.

Don't forget about clip grouping. That can be very convenient. Also Select All and split to split all clips in the same place.

That's certainly the quickest way, but there are many options so it's good when a thread like this covers them, and people like you add to the "knowledge base." There was another thread recently about moving whole blocks of audio, if I can find it I'll reference it.
