  • Is Roland saying they will not be updating the VStudio 700 drivers for Win 10?...

...That's what I read on the current update to Roland's Win 10 compatibility page:

http://www.roland.com/support/support_news/2849#v-studio

The legend at the top of the chart specifically says "No" = "We are sorry but we have no plan to make it compatible with Windows(R) 10 64-bit Edition / 32-bit Edition".

So, have we V-Studio 700 users just been officially abandoned by Roland?

I'm hoping that's not the case, but I'm not sure how else to see all this. I know a lot of us got the V-Studio running with the Win 8 driver hack, but that will be small comfort if some later update to Windows 10 decides to stop playing nicely with the old drivers. Maybe that's unlikely, but I didn't pay a premium price for this hardware only to toss it onto the obsolete bin a few years later, and/or take my chances with outdated drivers. Does anyone have any information that suggests otherwise?

As it seems that Windows 10 will be the last version of Windows, it would be a shame if Roland does not update drivers a last time especially on products in this price range.

But at the same time the VS 100 drivers are "under testing".  Why would Roland upgrade the 100 and not the 700?
Something stinks.

Yeah, I thought that was a bit odd. Both are discontinued, so it's not like the VS 100 is still being marketed or sold.

I suspect the vs 100 has a far larger user base. Combine that fact with the fact that Roland are raging rear-ends, and you have your answer.

Yeah, I guess that makes sense. Pretty disappointing. I genuinely expected them to keep supporting the 700 for a few more years, at least. Apparently I'm a hopeless optimist.

I really feel for the VS700 owners. That was a very expensive piece of gear and it should have years left in it. You guys should start some online petition or other way to shine light on Roland's poor business practices.

I guess Roland is leaving us with little choice. I guess I will be pushing and using another platform. I hope it was worth it to Roland.

If a host merges all the VS700 posts (how many are there?) you could all facebook/tweet/contact support the link.
