It did have a maple neck originally, I believe (see Live at Pompeii, which dates from a few months after Gilmour purchased it). It was switched to an older rosewood neck in 1972.

Yes, you are correct, as usual Krist. Looks like it might have also started out as a Sunburst, then painted Black. Per the site....Gilmourish.
