I could sure use a right lick customization menu for editing in the clips pane. I use 2 monitors and use the rightmost monitor for clips pane viewing only.
 
I recently went to add an envelope to a clip, but did not see how to do that with the right click menu. I went to the lane and selected the gain envelope, but that put a whole envelope through the entire lane and not the clip.

I miss the right click insert envelope dialog and would love to be able to use it like I am accustomed to with older versions of SONAR.
 
If someone can point me to the clip envelope process, it would be greatly appreciated. Where'd it go??

If I understand you, won't the edit filter do this?

I do not see that option for the clip in a take lane or clips pane.
 
There is no right clip option for envelope that I see. There used to be.

Personally I use the pop-up HUD and rarely the icon.
 

Thanks, that help is for the Music Creator program but his a lot of the same functionality.
 
I did the clips view and mentioned it earlier. I have multiple clips in a take lane split at all of the markers in the project. When I try to insert a single clip envelope, the whole take lane gets an envelope inserted.

I select a clip. The timeline shading reflects that. I choose Clip Automation and choose gain. The whole lane gets an envelope. I only want the clip I selected to get an envelope made visible like I used to be able to do.
 
Is there a way to add an envelope to only the clip I have selected and not the whole take lane? That is what I am trying to figure out.

Hard to tell for sure, but would you could be seeing is that adding a gain envelope to one clip will add one to all clips in that lane or track.   But since they're all zero it's just "visual" until you actually modify them.
 

yes, it is all or nothing it appears. I would like to be able to just put one envelope in a clip or show one clip envelope only. This will get me a quick visual of a clip in a take lane that has been modified if I needed to locate it. With all the clips showing envelopes, it is mudding up the take lane view.

once again, I prefer the old way and am looking for a way to get back to that behavior short of working in a prior version of SONAR.

It's actually been like that for a while now.    I can't recall for sure, but if you add a clip gain envelope, leave that view and then come back, do they all still display?
 

yes, they all display. It may have been like that for a while, but I never realized it.

I had been working in 8.5 when I had X1 and X2 because I didn't like the steep learning curve with the X series. Trying to like it now, but I keep wanting to go back to 8.5 and work to get projects done. With 8.5 I do not have to develop the X series work flow out. I force myself to keep working in X3 to see if I hit an AHA! moment. That hasn't happened yet. I am trying though.  :)

It honestly never bothered me, and I believe was added as a result of long-time requests to do just that - add clip envelopes en masse.   So yeah, in that case I suppose it's just something to get used to.
