I tried routing the metronome to the different busses and have not found a way to do this. I am sure it is mor simple than what I am trying to make it.
 
I am trying to create a practice track for a drummer that doesn't want drums in the mix. I am trying to put a click track in there. I thought the easiest way to get this done was to put the metronome in a bounced track. Can't seem to find a way to do that.
 
I have created a midi track to use for now, but it would be a whole lot better to bounce the metronome in the mix.
 
I have tried the following:
create send to headphones track from metronome and include headphones in track bounce
Send metronome directly to main output - default and metronome does not bounce. I thought it would
 
Also, I figured that if the metronome has it's own buss, it would be an option to use on the mixdown. That doesn't work either.
 
Thoughts?

It' not possible to record SONAR's metronome output directly. You'll either need to create a physical or virtual loopback path and re-record it, or make a MIDI click-track and render it with a suitable soft synth sound.

Thanks, that is what I thought. Too bad. I thought this would be a good feature.  I may put in a feature request for it.

Should be several hundred in place already.  This comes up frequently. Right up there with recording soft synth output in real time (or generally being able to route track/bus outputs to other tracks),  and being able to drive two or more soft synths from the same events one MIDI track.

While I am in no immediate need of an actual metronome audio track, those last 2 bits you mention do drive me crazy at times now that I've gotten back into working with a DAW after a few years away from the scene. They seem like they'd be an intuitive thing to be able to be done - but alas.
 
The first issue (soft synth real time audio) has driven me back to all of my MIDI gear from the 80s and 90s, especially my I've-owned-them-since-new analogs (OB-Xa and Midimoog) hardware samplers (EPS-16+ and ASR-10) and various beat boxes (I own a real 808 as well as a Yamaha RY30). So you could say it causes me to avoid using a lot of soft synths period (although I do like Addictive Drums a fair amount). And of course I've figured out the workaround for being able to use the same MIDI track even data for 2+ instruments, which is to copy/clone the track or parts of the track as needed, which seems sort of out-of-the-way for it to be 2014, but that's just IMHO.
