  • [Solved] Why would Sonar X3d-64 load so much slower than Sonar X3d-32? (p.3)

When you installed X3 did you let it use the previous config? If so, you could try re-personalizing X3 by holding CNTL and SHFT when opening SONAR. This will overwrite all the files in your home directory\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\SONAR X3 Producer and make some registry fixes to bring your setup back to factory defaults. You could save off the user directory before re-personalizing if you want to refer to your previous settings.

I'll try that in the morning...

Just to rule out something - make a copy of the SONARPDR.EXE file and rename it to X3D.exe. Now run that file and see if it also takes that long to launch. While its launching look in task manager and see if you can spot the CPU use going high for other processes while SONAR is loading.

Tried that and no difference, both sonarpdr.exe and x3d.exe showed a max of 13% while loading.

Nothing showing up in event viewer, no errors or warnings.

You haven't disabled Superfetch (service or via registry key) have you?

No, both prefetch and superfetch are running.

OK well might as well exhaust the process....

Please check to see if there is an update for your PC's BIOS. You might as well check if there are any firmware updates for the devices you plug into your system as well.

From an administrative command prompt run: sfc /scannow

Thanks...

Already ahead of you, BIOS is latest and had already run system file checker.
