Had I seen the thread before Craig, I would have deleted. We hardly ever delete anything but if something is offensive for no good reason, we will definitely remove it. This is suppose to be a happy place and I really don't see the value that subject line brought to the forum.

S.L.I.P.
Hello,

I have been a forum member for many years.  I do not post a lot, but if I can help I usually will, but most times more knowledgeable members will chime in first.  I read the forum everyday and I gain so much from all of you, that nothing I can say will ever repay you.  Recently I've upgraded to X3, and when I've posted a question, I've received many helpful responses, that I'm ever so thankful for.  Mr. Anderton, when I see a post from you, I go directly for it.  You have helped me a great deal.  The reason for my post, is the removal of "offensive, "Dumb, yada, yada, Hell," post.  As I feel you had every right to pull it, I think your subsequent post explaining yourself, was not necessary, and has also garnered the same results as if you left it untouched.  I feel a man, such as yourself felt guilty being the "censor," so you felt compelled to explain yourself.  I would say that you should, as role of, 'censor," delete your follow up post on the subject.

I look forward to you video's and tutorials.  This is just one man's opinion.

George

The Subsequent post was not offensive like the original post.   If you don't want to read it please don't.  You, however, want no one to be allowed to read it to decide for themselves.  That's something quite different and IMO, is offensive in and of itself.  I, however, am happy to let others see it to form there own opinions.

I was lead to Cakewalk products by the Cakewalk newsgroup back in the day. I was around when Greg and Ted use to go at it because Ted felt he deserved a free copy of PA! Back then it was open war. I don't remember anything ever getting moderated, much less deleted. I learned quick to not read what didn't interest me.

I was also around when all the political and religious "discussions" were taking place. And it was that situation that led to what we have now. I call it "Active Moderation."

I for one am for this active moderation. Keeps the forum on subject, and on topic, making music! I do not want or desire to go back to the old way.

I didn't read the thread that the OP referred  to that prompted him to start this thread. But I have seen Craig from the beginning of my time on this and other forums, and I know he wouldn't censor anything. He's never shown that in the past.

we are not on public property in front of buildings holding up picket signs.
we are have been given the privilege to post on a forum paid for by cakewalk.

so what has given us the right to complain when a post is removed?
personally speaking (only for myself) .... nothing does.
