i have just changed my computer and installed my soner 8.5
on it
but when i open soner i get the following error mesage
 
soner.exe has encountered a problem
and needs to close
then it closes.
but when i disable my sound card driver
it opens no problem
i have borrowed my mate soner 7 to try to see if it works
on my computer it works ok
my computer is old but i don want to buy a new one
 
i use windows xp sp 3
3.00 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4
4 gig ram
my sound card is a
m-audio delta 1010 lt

Odd that S7 works but 8.5 fails. Try updating the driver. It's likely there have been updates to the M-Audio driver in the past 4 years. If that doesn't do the trick, try using WDM instead of ASIO.

I gather that S8.5 worked on the same computer before you made the changes?
This raises two questions for me:
1. What changes did you make?
2. Obviously, the S7 that you borrowed would have been installed normally. Did you "install" S8.5, or did you copy it from a backup location?

Was the copy of 8.5 "borrowed" too?
