I asked about this myself, because I'm a big VC-64 fan. Plug-ins can be a source of instability in all programs, and especially, running old 32-bit programs in a 64-bit environment can be problematic - which is why few 64-bit DAWs also offer 32-bit support out of the box. Cakewalk has done what I feel is reasonable - dropped certain plugs from new installs, but still have them available for custom installs if you want them. After all, the FX tape sim makes a fine white noise generator
Hmm... does this mean that they are included with the discs or downloads but require a custom install to access?
Yes. You can choose to install them when you install X3, or at a later date. However, some plugs never made the transition to 64-bits, like DreamStation DXi and the old PowerFX plugs.
People might lose out on all those fancy VC64 tricks in your vids. ;-)
Unfortunately, yes. Aside from TH2 it's the only processor with two parallel paths. However, I did figure out how to do the cool vintage wa-wa trick with another approach, so at least I was able to salvage that.
