I've seen another thread about some of the FF UFX users having performance issues with X3.
I'd like to hear  if this is just a problem for a few, or is the FF UFX working good for most of the users.
I'm very close to buy one of this interfaces because it seem to have everything i need.
Please let me know if it's working good for you or not.

Having some issues here.  Not critical ones, but annoying ones.  For me, the issues are primarily with firewire.  Using USB the system is stable, but still has a few lags and clicks at odd places (e.g., exporting audio).  In general RME drivers are great and they frequently updated, so I expect this will get worked out.  These issues with X3 aside, the UFX is a fantastic unit.

Thanks neirbod.
Yes the UFX looks like a fantastic unit.

Anyone else?

I have not had any problems with my Fireface UFX or the Fireface 400.

I love the FF UFX. It is a rock solid unit outside the exposure with X3 that several people are having. Other than the pops and clicks in X3, I have no other real issue with it. Timing is good in X3 with zero sync issues on straight playback.

Hi Roger H.
Are you using onboard firewire, or are you using a add on card for that ?
if you are using a add on card what chipset and number...cause the poster Guitarmech111/neibod... seems to have issues...and it may be the onboard firewire causing the problem.?..if you have a solution, may benefit some here.

I'm using the onboard firewire with my soundcard now, and i'ts working great with my ECHO Audiofire4 card.
When/if I get the FF UFX I will see what's working best.
I've seen that RME says that USB has a little better  performance than firewire with the FF UFX.

I have a UCX.
Using my computer at 44.1 Sonar measured these latencies.

Firewire
69 samples input
126 samples output.
195 samples round trip

USB
76 input
93 output
169 round trip

I love my UCX and have no issues with it. I will say it gets hot, which has not been an issue for me, but is worth mentioning in case you are aiming for a tight rack space.

I am using the fireface ufx with absolutely no problems - both firewire and usb. My firewire is an expresscard 34 addon with Texas Instruments chipset.
