I know this thread was bumped back from the dead, but I'd also be interested in any Win 8 - 64 bit magic tricks for the 01X.  For now, I keep a maxed-out XP box alive just to have the 01X actively in the studio routings.  When that one gives up the ghost ... well, I'll rebuild another one.  But I'd much rather move forward.

I have 2 x 01x's - they will run perfectly under win 7 32bit (using Texas Instruments firewire chipset + legacy drivers). The 64bit drivers will not, and given that Yamaha ceased supporting this product years ago, they never will. It was a dissapointing decision by Yamaha, and I have not purchased their products since. I now use thr RME Fireface ufx in the studio snd the quality is far superior. RME also support their products seemingly forever! I believe the presonus studiolive was designed by the same guys involved with the 01x if you are looking for a similar 64bit replacement. I have soent some time on it and it is a nice little mixer/interface. The only downside is that the Studiolive does not function as a control surface and its faders are not motorised. Bizarely, the smaller, cheaper model has midi io, but the larger more expensive one does not.
