If you have ASUS AI Suite II installed, turn it off. It will randomly start throwing latency spikes due to the motherboard monitoring it performs.

I had that impacting my Asus Crosshair V Formula occasionally. The 990FX chipset is rock solid and the SATA controllers or USB ports shouldn't pose a problem.

Come on Alex, dont get all self depreciating (especially with your edit of post)...you do an amazing job here....My quibble was about driver boost, nothing personal, the only win here is to help fellow Sonar users make the most out of their software.

Thanks I feel more cheery after reading this... It can be heavy going sometimes. .

Hi Seth, Thanks for the info.
It is not installed. This is a lean installation machine here. It is only used for music. I have a INET computer for e-mail and the likes.

Alex, your prepare setting seemed to be the pest bang right now. I think I need to replace the B3 or freeze it every time I use it.

Just out of curiosity, is your interface in a USB2 or USB3 port (I assume your sig is indicating  you are using USB as opposed to firewire)?  If its a USB3 port, you might try a USB2 port.

The other thing you can try is a dedicated USB2 card (I added one and it improved performance of another DAW I was using prior to going to Sonar).

Thanks Dave, it is USB and I am using a USB2 port. Another controller card may be a good idea, but this interface and the keyboard/mouse combo are the only USB items.

Conley,
I didn't have anything except a keyboard and mouse on mine either.  Could be a $10 fix (and if not, you've got more USB ports.)

Dave, my FF800 ran with's dedicated FW card. I know what you mean. I may have to do that. What would be the best for the RME UFX I wonder. Have to check that out.

Alex, I am an AMD setup here. The drivers from ASUS mobo downloads say I am current.
