Hi,
I will email Toontrack regarding this issue, but just in case one of you might know what I can do...

I am installing Superior Drummer 2 on my brand new DAW form ADK. Installation stops on DVD #3….can't read a file.
Anyone knows if I can install just the VST and then copy the data folder from my old DAW to this one?

thanks
joni

Hi, don´t know,if that is possible, but I would try. Imo it is better to
download the datas from your toontrack account,or?

Login to your Toontrack account and you should be able to download a copy the latest version.

I would do an install after downloading the other files. That way the TT installer will keep everything in sync. Not worth the trouble trying to force something to work. It should only take a few minutes after downloading. Have you tried to clean the next disc or is it a soft delivery?

It is possible. Just install the vsti, open it then pont it at the library. I have done this several times during system upgrades.

It seems from the replies so far that people don't realise that the samples are only available on the DVD - only the main program is available as a download.
You should be able to get replacement disc(s) from Toontrack which is the best option as you'll always have them no matter what happens to your pc.

Grum.

If he is looking for the 3rd or more disc, the program is already installed likely and just needs to copy the sounds library to the installed path.

I would also post this on the Toontrack forum to see if they can help at all. Maybe support could setup a download for only the files you are missing? Post your issue up in the TT forum and I am sure someone will give you more advice.

I would try to clean/resurface/polish the DVD first though. The disc doctor products work pretty good and you can reuse them on other DVD/CDs but don't use them on Blu-Ray discs. Don't ask how I know about that one...

When you buy "download" copies of Superior or SDX retailers will add, on request for a nominal fee, a  VSSD box of discs that contain all the installs for every Toontrack product but with no serial numbers. The Idea is you use that box of discs for subsequent  "download" purchases.

One would hope Toontrack would replace the dics free of charge but failing that a dealer where you originally bought the software may be able to supply you with the box. Its not normaly available for sale without purchasing a download but under the circumstances they may be able to help.

But be wary of this type of deal http://www.amazon.com/Toontrack-Music-VSSD-installers-titles/dp/B007X0AQLI
$149.95 for a box of disks but no serial numbers is daylight robbery.

Just copy the library files from their previous location and download the latest sd2 v2.32 program from your Toontrack account.
They are a very reasonable bunch of guys. Shoot off an email explaining your situation, I'm sure they'll set you up with the files you need so you can at least have a disc copy for future emergencies.

Amazingly, tried installing it again this morning and…it passed DVD#3….already in DVD#5. Almost there...
Thank you all for your hints.
best, joni
