  • Long-throw (100mm) faders?

Hi,

Is it possible to get the faders to be longer in the full screen dock view (or some other way), so a touchscreen monitor can be used more like a mixing board with long-throw (100mm) faders?

Thanks in advance,
G

+1. I think graphics could be upsized for touch, including Mute/Solo buttons, etc. Maybe a "Touch-mode" screen, but definitely want larger faders. It's hard to automate (with a mouse) a logarithmic fader movement switching between normal click-drag to holding down the shift key. With touch, you could probably do this better, but the faders need to be larger to accomplish.

You have some options here:

1. Smaller Screen Resolution Doing this will make graphics bigger. I hate to suggest it tho because it will also mean seeing less of the entire GUI on one screen.

2. Bigger Monitor Like this 80 incher if you have the room never mind the $$$.

3. Multiple Monitors You can even set them at different resolutions so your faders could be on the one set at the lower resolution. Works great with screensets.

Thanks for the feedback.  I'm actually thinking about a bigger monitor, but reducing the resolution just doesn't make sense.  When I make it full screen, there is a ton of wasted space at the top of the mixer.

I tried not to post here but I am compelled to do so. By getting a Mackie Control that is exactly what you get. Only they are motorized. No need to change the resolution or fiddle with a touch screen. But they are touch sensitive.

Or even V-Control Pro on your iPad. At least my faders are bigger on the iPad.

Thanks to all!   I already have a BCF2000, and a controller app for my iPad.  Both work well, but I wanted to see if the faders could be adjusted to facilitate a 27" touchscreen monitor that I have my eye on (I guess not though).  It seems pretty odd, given that Cakewalk touts the touch experience...but mixing on a big touchscreen with non-touch DAWs is actually easier.

Take care,
