I have been out of the loop for a while and some things have changed that I don't know how to change back to what I am use to.
 
1. Not sure the proper name of this but the track time pointer thingy you can drag and move to where you want to start from is not moving anymore with the track. It use to travel with the track, for example when the cursor was about to move off the screen it use to move on so I can see what is currently being recorded. Now in this current version that cursor stays put, once the track travels off the screen that is all I can view. 
 
2.Also the record buttons use to show on the track screen even when tracks were at the smallest state now all of that is gone. Only the name of track is showing, how can I revert that back to show the record on the tracking screen with you making each track large

For #2 It sounds like the track pane was shortened. Drag the track divider to make it bigger?

For #1, are you sure you're not clicking on the screen during playback? I can't be 100% sure because I don't have a project open, but doesn't that stop the screen scrolling where you click (based on the idea that by clicking, you have expressed a desire to make some kind of adjustment, so it stops scrolling for you)?

The line at the edge of the track next to the wave forms. Hover the cursor over the edge until it changes to ||, click and drag.

I might have the name wrong but I am referring to the vertical border that separates the track controls from the clips view. If you drag it open more items will display when tracks are minimized.

I was going to say screensets or lenses. But I just checked and all screens show the record button but yes you need to widen the inspector view to reveal that. It's always been that way. You have to pulll it way over to see everything as shown below.
