I am having trouble with the Clean Audio Folder command. Pretty much as soon as it starts, the computer becomes non-responsive and I have to re-boot (I've waited up to half an hour to see if it's going to do anything - it doesn't). This operation has been non-functional for a long time and I really need to clear out the folder. Windows 7 (32-bit) Producer X2 (It's never worked on this computer - even prior to the newer versions of Producer). Any thoughts? I appreciate the help.

thanks,

Nick

Your right, it has never worked so people don't bother. I myself don't fret much over what my computer has stored anymore as I have more storage that I could possibly ever use. But this is what you can do if you want to clean out your audio folders.

First I will assume you have everything safely backed up on another drive. Twice is even better. I will drag and drop my entire Sonar folder and name it with Date. example "Sonar backup Jan 10 2014"
Make a new folder to put the cleaned up files in and name it something like " Sonar files Jan 2014" so it will be very obvious to you.
You can use the original drive for this or an external. You have your back ups so no worries.

Open each project in turn and perform a 'SAVE AS" to the new location.
Make sure to check the "Copy All Audio with Project option"
Save as will transfer only the audio that was being used by the version you have opened. Backups and deleted stuff is not transferred.

When your done you can now delete the old folder.
