Thanks, guys.  I checked and they were both set to 256.  I reset to 512 and will see if that helps.  I appreciate the responses!

Hope it works for you, Konrad.

FBB pointed out the other day that he found these settings to be a balancing act, between the audio buffers and the I/O buffers.

Each system varies, and. You need to find your system's sweet spot. So it's a case of increasing one and lowering the other, and vice versa, until you find the right balance.

I just read that back and it's not very clear, but I have to shoot out now to watch my son's Nativity Play.

Reopening this thread.  I have found that Gobbler, even at its lowest setting, can result in dropouts and overall poor performance on heavier projects.  I'd love an option to have it only do its thing at odd hours (e.g., 3 AM), or to have a "pause" option when I right click on the icon in the  task bar.  For now I have to turn it off and then remember to turn it back on.
