Third on the CA-2A! The 76 is good, the CA-2A is GREAT.

the 1176 grew on me.  Honestly, i think the fact that it is the default in the Pro Channel just made me keep using it until i got a grip on how it worked.

What do you guys think of all the BT compressors? THere's a lot of them to get to grips with. Is it worth it, or is it best to focus on the Pro Channel compressors?

One of the tests I'd like to do at some stage this year is CA-2A vs Native Instruments VC-2A. Pity though I don't have the actual compressor. I read somewhere on these threads the emulation was a little suspect with CA-2A compared to the real thing, although that only matters to purists.

Your su****ion is not off (regarding how close it is to the real thing). You should check out this shootout: http://www.gearslutz.com/board/9222726-post1.html It's very helpful but you have to be honest with yourself and try not to go through the rest of the thread until you pick your choices. I posted only the OP to help you avoid temptation lol.

EDIT: no idea why it is censoring the noun for "suspect"

thanks everyone!

looks like the CA2A is a super sweet piece of virtual hardware I need to buy then!
I am loving the ProChannel approach and I must say that Sonar X3 sounds really good. Or maybe it's just conducive to better mixes. Anyway. Some bugs here and there and I need to get accustomed to the new tool layout (coming from Pro Tools I can see how the smart tool, for example, behaves in a different way, especially in the piano roll window), but all in all I'm enjoying Sonar. Next month I'll buy the Softube mixbundle and I've just sent an email to Slate Digital to see if hey could consider making VCC ProChannel Friendly. Now that'd be cool!

I hope that is a typo. LOL

It was indeed.

Been teaching audio production on Logic all day and it must have been a Freudian slip.
Anyway now it's fixed!
