Just to say that I entered the contest (well, I created a remix for something to do and posted it on the website) using just the vocal as I mentioned in a post above.
Sonar behaved very well apart from an automation problem that turned out to be related to Alchemy Player (I created a separate thread about it).

Sonar X3d is definitely the best iteration of Sonar I've used - I still save a lot (just in case) but it is so much more fun making music when the screen hasn't gone all white (etc) .
