I've found a power supply that works on the Axiom, and connected it via a MIDI lead to my MOTU unit, and I'm now getting a connection. I'll follow up with M-Audio during the week, but it's not as pressing a need as it might have been.

I am glad it is working. I have not used the Axiom, but it should be recognized as just a controller and only M-Audio would be able to answer why.

I tried mine again this morning, and without drivers installed Win7 just tells me "Unknown device connected." Unfortunately, the drivers install in one lump, so I cannot pick and choose what to load for them.

I had the same issue with my M-Audio Trigger finger. I was running Windows 7 with Sonar 8.5, but in the end had to attach it via midi to the USb soundcard. This is a while ago, but I seem to remember it showing in the Midi Devices in Sonar when the the Quad capture soundcard wasn't connected. If you are set up a similar way. Maybe try seeing if it shows when you soundcard is disconnected, just incase that offers clue to where the fault lays.

I've since moved to Vietnam, and am looking for a new laptop, which will be Window 8, since the Trigger finger has not Drivers for 8, I was thinking of selling it back in the UK, and buying an Axuim Keyboard instead. Seeing your post will mean I definitely trying out in the store on my set up before I buy.
