<snip> To me, the interface is awesome...clean and modern, and just plain intuitive (for most things anyway).

As I learn more and more of shortcut/hotkey keystrokes to move around in the program, it has become very intuitive to me.

Then again, I've been tinkering with this stuff since before I was waiting on *this* upgrade (and hoping my 8088 could run it):

So considering that there is even a Windows version of Cakewalk now, that can also now record audio and use cool things like F/X plugins, yeah, the latest version is pretty darn cool. lol

Yeah,

I remember punch cards too.

I love X3, I especially liked the bit when Magneto moved the Golden Gate bridge over to Alcatraz and all the cars fell in the sea or something.

Now you made me totally hate X3. Worst butchering of a marvel series ever! It was just all wrong, nothing followed the original plots, because the change of director completely destroyed it!

Now you remind me it was a stinking pile of cr*p, time to log an issue.

Can you reproduce that bug?

That said.... I just had my first and only crash last night! Hopefully that was just a fluke.

bapuYeah,

I remember punch cards too.

Boy that brings back "pleasant" memories. One of first circuit designs used a state-of-the-past super big IBM (360?)computer to "crunch the numbers". I would submit the circuit nodes, parameters, etc. on punch cards. A week later (the computer was at another site) the analysis would come back..."No convergence" (computer couldn't get an answer). Now I can get the same results on my computer in ms! :-)

Yeah, I think that snark was intended for me, because I  said we've got it good today by at least 20 year old standards...good thing I didn't go into the fact that Cakewalk wasn't even my first. They didn't make products for the Amiga. lol And I didn't do punch cards. I did do BASIC in junior high, though, on my homemade Heathkit 8086. But I ran my first Cakewalk sequencer on an XT clone around 23 years ago and feel qualified to say that we definitely have life by the short hairs given the fact that SONAR X3 even exists today and can do what it can do.

15 years ago all I had was a Yamaha keyboard and a cassette recorder. I recall using the 5 track recorder on my PSR-530 to record my early compositions for school and then recording those onto a cassette, and also I made quite an effort to manually write the scores by hand. Recording computers and software did exist back then, but they were highly expensive, and never mind trying to get an actual piano, they were huge and cost several thousands.

Now sonar easily handles all of that, and surprisingly even writes out the score for me too, and I also found a brand new DGX 630 a few years ago for just £415, which was an instant purchase (a bit more for the stool and pedals though).

Ditto here. I have yet to experience any problems with X3. Does everything I need it to.

Another ditto here!
