I had a reproducible crash last night with DMGAudio's Equality.

The crash was:
1. Loaded an existing project with DMGAudio's EQuality on the master buss
2. During playback of the song, delete the EQuality instance on the master buss

Result: Sonar would freeze and go into not responding mode. This was 100% reproducible on my machine and happened 3 times in a row.

To workaround the issue, I had to stop playback, THEN delete EQuality.

DMG Audio is currently looking into crashes with EQuality in Sonar.

Thanks! Didn't see this at first.

Elysia Niveau Filter (VST2 - 32bit), will work OK when first put in the FX bin, but will crash X3 when you re-arrange the plugin order in the bin.  VST3 - 32bit version seems to be OK.

Are you running SONAR X3c 32bit? I can't seem to reproduce this issue.
-DG

Yes.  X3c 32bit on Win7 x64.
UAD (x86) plugins are still flaky in general.  I inserted an instance of Ocean Way, then removed it; after its removal, all of the UAD plugins in the project were disabled.  Audio would pass through, but no processing would be performed.

Can you still reproduce this? I can't seem to get it to happen at all. Looks like a sweet plugin though!

Yeah, it's a sweet plugin, though EQuilibrium is really the beast of the pack. That one has got a ton of modeled EQ's, it does Pultec's, Neve's, API's, SSL's, all in a single unit with a ton of options, including how to change the interface. Dave Gamble (the developer, formerly of Neve and Sonalksis) isn't a big believer in modelling saturation, but has nailed the curves the EQ's, including the phase shift. If EQuilibrium were the only EQ plugin in existence, the world would somehow be a better place.

But I digress...sounds like Dave's looking into the problem on his end. If you still want me to look into reproducing it, I can probably send you a .bun file with the project (though, it's a big one, I'd probably have to strip out some audio). If so, either PM me or post back here.

Dude Ivey
DMG Equilibrium is the one plug I had to stop using when X-3a came out due to opening a project created in X-2a and as soon as u hit play X-3 would crash. So I stopped using it and started using the new flyout eq! That's a sweet eq right under our noses! Haven't tried Equilibrium with X-3c yet but I will just to test.

Dan, I've reported this already....but it may be worth looking into as I never heard back whether staff was going to talk to Voxengo or not. But Pristine Space cannot be used with a UAD on the same fx bin. I was told the issue was with Pristine Space. However, both of these plugs work in the same project, just not on the same fx bin at the same time. I'm able to use them in x64, but not 32 bit Sonar X3. So if you have an "in" at Voxengo, maybe you can pass the info on.

The project that fails for me has Pristine Space in the FX bin first with a UAD 1176 following it on the same bin. Crash city if you load them in a project...and crash city if you try to load a project with that line-up. Thanks.

I had some wackiness happen today with Breverb,  Link here http://forum.cakewalk.com/Exceptionally-frustrating-X3c-experience-m2923620.aspx

The "C" patch has not been good for me...

Danny - don't see you much on the Fractal forum anymore ?

Bakers are all over the place....I have faith they'll fix this stuff in a timely fashion. Sorry to hear about the problems you're having....whew..tough stuff there Greg. :(

I lurk there a bit but have been too busy creating patches and using my AxeFx. I only stop there to see when they may be getting that pedal board ready to go. I've been on the waiting list since August. I'm getting a little frustrated with that...but you're sort of backed into a corner. Other pedal boards work, but none of them do what the MFC will do. The new one sounds pretty sweet...if only they'd get it out already. I may just dust off my old Bradshaw switching system and call it a day. Pretty much the same thing, just a little bigger board.

Hey Danny,

Out of curiosity, what happens if you put Pristine Space in the track FX bin and then route it to a bus and put a UAD plug there? Same behavior?

I haven't tried that one Ed. I have PS in a bus follwed by the UAD 1176 to squash the room. Been using that for years...now it won't work. If I have the UAD in the bin and the PS on another track or bus, all is well. As soon as they both end up in the same bin, it's cuytains. Yet in 64 bit Sonar it works. I don't think it will matter what we do...as long as those two are on the same bin in 32 bit Sonar, they hate each other and it crashes.

I've never had any issues with Voxengo stuff. My first theory would be it's something UAD (But one of the Bakers assured me it wasn't) as they seem to really be strange with X3 and we had a few issues with them with X2 as well. The last I heard UAD wasn't doing any testing in house on Sonar...so that may be the issue. We went from having our own little "Sonar button" in the UAD control panel to "we don't test on Sonar in house" was what I was told by them. Makes me want to sell my UAD stuff and use something else that acknowledges we have a killer DAW for sale too. Unfortunately, their compressors and other processing gear make too huge of a difference for me. :( But trust me, when something else comes along that leaves them in the dust, so will I.

Strange, I'm going to write down this formula to see if I can reproduce on my end come Monday. Sadly all our fancy stuff is at HQ and not in my homestudio :(
