Hi everyone,
I'm trying to work in collaboration on a project and when I open my friend's project, the guitar rig preset assigned to each track does not open with the project (Guitar rig is still in the FX chain). So, we have to reassign guitar rig effect to each track over and over again we switch computer.. We tried many thing such as saving as .BUNDLE but it doesn't work either.

does anyone knows how to transfer/save as correctly so we can work in collaboration without loosing the guitar effect every time?

Many thanks!

Hmmm . . . . . the only thing I can think of has to do with where Guitar rig and the presets are stored on each computer.  Wouldn't that need to be identical, maybe?

One other thing to look at, although I'm assuming you both have the same base version of GR could yours have been updated to a higher .xx version?

Don't know if it would matter but I've seen similar issues with other software.

at the beginning no, we had different version. I noticed that and we upgrade for same version. Still the same problem.

I've had this problem with Guitar Rig as well when I re-installed Windows. Ideally presets should be saved with the Sonar project... but it doesn't.

What I did notice was that Guitar Rig seems to leave a lot of files in My Documents.

You are in a much better position because you still have the other PC. If you've ever used something like SysInternals ProcMon then you can trace where it keeps the information. It could be My Documents or it could be the Registry.

so you suggest I track down if guitar rig presets are related with other GR files with this prog? (SysInternals ProcMon) I'll try that...hopefully it will give me a hint of how to solve the problem

I collaborate with a guitar player, and we both have GR5 on our computers.

What works for us is that we save any GR5 sounds we make as user presets, then send those along with our projects in a compressed folder.

At the other end, we take the GR5 presets and save them in the folder Guitar Rig looks at for presets, and then they load up just fine.

On my computer, the location for these is:

D:\Users\Robert\Documents\Native Instruments\Guitar Rig 5\Sounds

(I moved my user - Robert - to the D: drive, but otherwise, this is where presets get saved)

Does that help?

I know it doesn't solve your problem really, but once you're down to the mixing stage, you could always simply freeze the track, or even bounce it with only guitar rig.
