Good song.   Reminds me a bit of the Perry Mason theme with a modern twist.   Well produced and mixed...

Some serious expert tone carving to be sure. Very enjoyable piece. Delightful use of dissonance, very musical. Love that vocal part. Awesome tune.

Really well done Tom! I love the way it builds rhythmically and instrumentally. One of my favourites here at the moment.
My only thought on the mix is, the crackling over the spoken vocal can seem a bit intrusive the way it enters and exits. Not sure on what the solution is, maybe a slower fade in/out if that's possible.
Regarding that genre, I think it moves between a kind of "Early Spiritual Soul" into a "Contemporary Eclectic Jazz". It's kind of hard to pin down because there are so many layers, but that's not a bad thing. It is what it is and that's a good thing regarding this song. As I said it's definitely one of my favourites here. Okay, back for another listen.

Glad I stopped in for a listen.   More of a journey than a song destination.

Yeah... I don;t know either, what genre this would be.

As to the question.... I like some, but few..... my dog? Now I really like my dog.

Love the shifting dynamics of the song and your use of different instruments for the melodic phrases.  Great composition!

Very nice, it drew me in and kept me engaged to the end. Love the changes! The mix is just right to my ear.

hey, Tom
I didn't read all of the comments before posting this, so if it's already been said, then feel free to ignore the heck out of me!

I didn't like that the noise from the voice over went away between the voice over bits, it sounded unnatural that way.

the low mids are muddy in this and the bass is as well.  I'd suggest notching some of that out and give the bass some clarity.  the reverb could probably use some high pass also to clean up that lower end.

the piano sounds like it's in a different space than everything else - the verb on it is very different from the strings, drums, bass

ha!  hoe down in the middle!  love the fiddlin'!

but that piano verb is really distracting to me
and the noise on the voice over or lack thereof in other places.

cool tune, very creative!  fantastic playing!

If you don't like any of my comments, well, remember I'm just a dawg...
