Oh I'm already doing that with dual monitors. I watched the Session drummer videos over the last 2 days and remembered everything, just by pausing the videos and practicing the techniques, my only obstacle being that the first video was made using a much older version of Sonar and much of it was too different in the current one.
I mostly self taught myself up to being able to play grade 8+ piano, can play and record almost any new melody and chords by ear, and have lots of lyrics and compositions written, but I was always stuck with being mostly useless at music production software which was holding me back. No longer, I will learn how to do this.
I bought MC6 around 8 months ago, but I was so rubbish at it. I kept trying to record every melody from the piano, spent around 2-3 months and nothing sounded right and needed way too many re takes. Melodyne editor is going to help me vastly with that, plus learning how to use the midi instruments and making loops.
Also either MC6 didn't have, or I just didn't know how to change my projects to a new tempo without having to record everything again. I've already figured out how to do that in Sonar, again mostly with midi and melodyne.
Though its amazing how Sonar X3 has made my 24" monitor seem far too small. One little trick I also found was to move my start bar to the left of the screen, as it was taking me ages to click on anything at the bottom without it popping up all the time.
