I've come up against an unusual error message ( at least for me ) today. Any ideas ?
When I try to save a project I get the message :
Access to c:\cakewalk projects\my cakewalk projects\ MFC7EA4.tmp was denied
and I then can't save the file
The temp file name changes, but this is happening on all my projects. I can save using a different file name for the project
I'm using X3 studio, Win 8, 64 bit
Is there a simple fix ?

I did a search of my Cakewalk Projects folder and found that in all of my projects I have 2 tmp files.  I do not even know why those were generated, nor what their purpose is. (other than the obvious temporary data)

Do you have full permissions for your user?

Does this happen if you Run As Administrator?

I will keep digging - maybe something will turn up.

Bob,
I have full access rights, so I don't think this is an issue.
I have just changed my audio interface ( from Focusrite 2i4 to a Tascam US-144mk2 ) on this particular PC, but this is something that I have done before. The latest drivers are downloaded. Obviously I have gone through preferences to sort out this change, which has worked as normal. Nothing unusual came up.
Grateful for any further input

Try temporarily disabling your virus scanner and then rebooting (with virus scanner disabled)..

If no dice here is a utility that could help:
