  • [SOLVED] X2a PRV Track Pane Info Disappears When Small

First of all, I live in the PRV. It's my main screen when working with MIDI notes.

At some point I began to realize something isn't right with it in X2. When I shrink the Track Info Pane so just the MSR buttons are visible, the text disappears. I do this to maximize work space.

Especially when I have several tracks open in PRV I need to know which track I'm on. It's frustrating not being able to look over and see the track number or name as I'm so used to doing in every version prior to X2, as seen below:

I'm sure X2 was designed this way so do you think it's worth a feature request to fix?

X2A is the final service pack for X2 - sorry.
I'm not 100% sure how to reproduce your issue (maybe others can). I would suggest installing the X3 demo when it (finally) gets released to see if it resolves your issue.

I guess I forgot to ask if X3 does the same thing. Can anyone with X3 verify this?

The request would obviously be for the next release update or version.

Hi Steve, I just opened X3 to check this and the track number appears just above the Record button. As you narrow that window, the right edge disappears, but the number remains there until you narrow it so much that record button no longer fits.

It sounds like X3 fixed the issue then.

Thanks mettelus!

I've just checked both X3d and X2a and both show the track number just above the Record button. I don't remember experiencing your issue. Could you provide steps to reproduce it using X2's Normal project template?

I concur with Jlien.  I'm using X2a and I see track numbers displayed, even when severely shrunk to a narrow width.

There are no steps really. All I'm doing is grabbing the Track Pane's left border with the mouse and shrinking the window.

Here's a fancy illustration:

X2a has done this since the beginning, but I only now realized it shouldn't be happening. It happens in all projects new and old.

So why is mine doing this and no one else's?

Try it with different screen resolutions.
