I have a load of .cwb and .mid files created in HS6. Cakewalk have a good upgrade offer to X3 Studio which I might try and which would allow me to use 64 bit and more ram.

Does anyone know if my existing HS6 (32 bit) files will run OK in X3 studio 64 bit or can I expect problems??

Cakewalk files from any of their DAW products can be read by newer versions. The issues you may have when moving from 32bit to 64bit would be related to plug-ins. Some of the older DXi plug-ins were not ported to 64bit so they are unavailable. Some 32bit VST plug-ins do not work well in 64bit hosts. Some 32bit VST plug-ins work better with a third party bridge, jBridge, instead of the included BitBridge. Both 32bit and 64bit versions of SONAR run on 64bit Windows. The worst case would be having to install the 32bit version of SONAR to play old projects and use the 64bit version of SONAR for new projects.

Also don't remove HS6 when you install X3.

Hi Guys...and thanks for the quick replies. I had a feeling that might be the case. Some projects use vsts like Realstrat and B3 Hammond, so presumably i can expect trouble!!

Scook , it sounds like the best - although least easy solution - is to keep HS6 and run X3 sepatately.

I do have two desktops, so maybe I'll keep the XP one running HS6 for the time being.

Thanks again for the help
