I've been sending them e-mails with no responses.  Do you have a US based phone # I can call them at?

I don't but they are very good with customer service so I am sure they'll get back to you. They are in Europe so maybe they will get back to you tomorrow, early AM. Did you check your account with them for any special upgrade offers?

TO BE CLEAR...

I am in no way discrediting Cakewalk for anything.
I've made money with X3 since it was installed and I love the program

I could care less what competitors are offering.

Cakewalk has always been a favorite since v1 in the 80's... it has become my mainstay.

There are always questions for everything ...including why people inject vitriol into an otherwise polite thread.

I simply asked the price and if there were promotional considerations...

Andrew ...should I delete this whole thread?
I thought others would like the answers...
I did not take into account dissatisfied individuals using my thread as a means to spew bile

FYI: ...many PT users are disgusted with the pricing schemes they're offered on upgrades...

I'll never use their product ...it's a choice.
Cakewalk forever

No it's fine. I appreciate hearing feedback from all customers. I'm looking into it but my understanding was there was window of time for current SONAR X3 Studio and Producer customers to upgrade to Editor. For whatever reason, some people missed out on it. Pro Tools doesn't even have Melodyne or ARA integration so the cost would be $299 so the fact that Celemony was offering a special upgrade price was nice of them. Obviously, some people weren't aware of it but not sure how that's our fault. I'll keep people posted if I hear anything more.

This is nothing personal and I'm just venting.  I've been in the IT business for over 40 years and have run my own corporations for the past 15.  This is all about taking ownership.  If I have a vendor that has offered a deal and I pass that on to my customer, then my company takes ownership and we honor it. The point is that if I waited 2 months, we wouldn't be having this conversation.  I would have bought your "Holiday Bundle" and been happy with that.  I have a lot of time invested in Sonar and don't really want to change, but I am expecting someone to take ownership.  I have been checking since day one of registering Melodyne Essentials on Celemony's website and never saw a deal to upgrade to "editor" for $149.  The only offer was "assistant" upgrade for $149.  I emailed them two months ago regarding this and have yet to get a response. I'd be more than willing to discuss something we can work out offline if that's feasible.

I sent you a PM. But let's be clear, the upgrade offer was done directly via Celemony. So it wasn't passed on by us. It was because of the success of that offer, that they graciously allowed us to offer a bundle. I am not sure how or why you missed it from them. I am sure they'll get back to you and they can clarify it. My understanding was you personally talked to Celemony but now I am hearing different. Why don't we let them have a chance to get back to you. Regardless, you aren't going to go to Pro Tools and get a better offer on Melodyne. And it won't be integrated via ARA. And they aren't so well known for their customer service. And I am trying to help you out here behind the scenes. So I think your criticism is unfair but you are entitled to your opinion.

I first tried to use Melodyne a couple of weeks ago. The first time I ran it, there was a pop-up telling me I could buy the editor upgrade for $149 until Jan 1 2014. I'm thinking that the window to upgrade may be triggered by your first use of the product. At least it sounds logical to me. You try it, and have a few weeks to decide if you want an upgrade. I find it way too confusing so I'm giving it a pass because I have too many things to learn.

Well, they did get back to me about 30 minutes ago and offered the $149 upgrade.  Look, I'm not knocking your product or your support.  We can all take lesson in better communication, including myself.  I didn't mean to offend you, Cakewalk or anyone else.  If I did, I apologize. My suggestion (constructive criticism)...next time provide a link inside the My Cakewalk store portal. Something like "click here to upgrade to Melodyne Editor (Offer ends xx/xx/xx)". This would have cleared up a lot of confusion. I totally understand it wasn't your offer, but this is the way we do our "due diligence" when partnering with other companies. Thanks for your time and see you all at NAMM 2014.

AFAIK, Melodyne sent an email to everyone who registered Essential (from X3) with an offer to upgrade to Editor for $149 (half price) which was good for 10 days. Some people did not get this email and contacted Melodyne directly, and some of these folks did so very recently. I have not heard of a single person (yet) whom Melodyne refused.

The whole process was pretty clear for me, I wouldn't want third party offers in my Cakewalk account (in fact it would horrify me). Everything I did to upgrade was through the Celemony portal.

I got sent two emails about the offer after activating melodyne essential, and also it told me in my web browser when activating too. I purchased it as it will vastly reduce the number of retakes I need to do when recording the piano.

Its very clear, you have 14 days after registering to get editor for €/$149.
