Is the Cakewalk mp3 activation eligible for this discount?  I tried but got the already used message.

Cheers,

I'm also having trouble using the HOLIDAY20 promo code on Sonar X3 Producer Upgrade (from X2 Producer). Again, the store seems to think that the promo code has already been used.

Some extra info : I selected the product and entered the promo code before I "signed in" to the store. The discount was correctly applied (£119 down to £104). But as soon as I signed in, the discount was removed, showing the "already applied" message.

I've emailed Cakewalk about the problem, hope they get it sorted so that I can upgrade to over xmas !

Here's a list of qualifying products:
SONAR X3 upgrades and holiday bundles
Dimension Pro
Rapture
Z3TA+ 2
    ....

Does it appear in your my accounts page? Just wondering if the system thinks you are valid or if there's some kind of disconnect. It should work if you can check out. I am looking into it.

thanks for that. Still no luck trying to use the promo code. The "My Accounts" page works fine for me once I've signed in and shows that I have Sonar X2 Producer. Just to confirm, the "SONAR X3 upgrades" in the list of qualifying products does include a Sonar X2 Producer to X3 Producer upgrade ?

Will give Cakewalk a ring on Monday if I am still having problems.
thanks,
adam

Firstly, the offer is nice to have, so thank you.

Secondly, I think to reduce the level of confusion, I would like to suggest:
  • a dedicated area of the store allocated to serve links from coupon e-mails. I.e. following the link on the HOLIDAY20 promo e-mail would take customers directly to a HOLIDAY20 page.
  • removing the word 'ANY' from the actual promo ad, and replacing it with 'SELECTED' or 'ANY*' (* referring to the list of valid products identified by *) would be a more accurate representation of the offer.

Thanks again for the promo.
All the best,

Lee.

Increasing the level of confusion is a sales tactic, here it is done really well - hehe - ;)

I agree  the initial verbiage  could be worded better, but i think the list itself is pretty clear.  Once I took a good look at the list it was clear to me that the offer was more limited than usual. Not complaining.  Still have a couple of days to decide.  Wish the chocolate pack demos were better. The demo is hard to tell if they are so-so sounds drowned in verb or good sounds not showcased well.

Generosity is not a tool of the desperate.

Is the entire US economy in a slump or is it just Cakewalk?

If Cakewalk is on a downward spiral, is there a competing DAW that's on the upswing?  Or is the PC-based DAW market saturated at this point?  Or are pirates winning?

Why is Cakewalk trying to squeeeeeeze money out of us?  Some of us resent the apparent shift from "making the customers happy" to "making the customers pay".

It's not just Cakewalk, either.  Other companies are doing the same thing.  It's sad.

Some day someone will create a free DAW that is truly "good enough" and that will be that.  Adios Cakewalk, hello pocketbook.

Until then, we just have to grumble.  And ignore Cakewalk's "special offers", which are just their way of trying to get us to pay for stuff we don't really want.

I have yet to see an open source / free application that is as good as a commercial product
(though Mozilla stuff isn't far behind).
