JonD- I will Check to see how my VST's are set up.  So you are saying that if they are all in one folder, that I should create a 2nd one named say "32bit VSTs" and move all 32 bit plugs to it?

Yes.  And once you've done it, don't forget to add the folder path to VST settings so Sonar knows to scan it.

Lilloyd- I will check into Jbridge.  Thanks!

I personally prefer jBridge over the built in bitbridge to bridge my 32bit plugins.

Chuck, jBridge is definitely a lifesaver when it comes to some things.(Kitcore, BFD Eco, and Liquid Mix for me )
I have a faderport running on my Windows 7 64bit machine. When you go to enter the command prompt, you have to do it as administrator or it wont work. You have to type in cmd and then, i think, hold down control and hit enter. That will put you in administrator mode. There's a YouTube video that explains it very thoroughly. Hope that helps!

Chuck, the Melodyne Essential with x3 can handle more tracks; it is just that it is for monophonic tracks like vocals. The full Melodyne can work with polyphonic tracks.

Polyphonic like acoustic guitar or clean piano but (generally) not overly distorted guitars.

The one I know is going to cause me grief is Drumagog 5 as they do not have a 64 bit version for PC.

They have been promising it for over two years now. I move to Slate's Trigger and I gotta tell you the "exact" same libraries that gave me samples for both systems (Drumagog and Trigger) sound waaaaay better in Trigger. I don;t understand why but they do.

But as other have said once you have 64bit SONAR scanning your 32bit (only) plugs, you will be able to use Drumagog again. And someday (over the rainbow) you'll have 64bit Drumagog.

Thanks Bapu,
I will look into trigger.  As I understand.... we can also do some drum replacement with audio snap and trigger either SD or probably now AD within Sonar, I haven't played with it much though.

As for melodyne....  is it commonplace, or are people really auto-tuning guitar and piano parts?  Really?  Why?  this kinda blew my mind... I would never have thought to try.... I would just re-perform and re-record the part.  But vocal auto tune can be useful if a sing is just lousy, sloppy, sliding from note to note in an non musical way.  I get the need for it.  but guitar?  WOW!  mind = blown!

Chuck,

I frequently run my bass tracks thru Melodyne just to "be sure". Especially after a long session where I did not check tuning while capturing "the perfomance".

There is a 64 bit version of BFD Eco. There were a few hoops to jump through to install it on Vista 64 but no issues in win 7 or 8.

I have been 64 bit since 8.5 was released, dont expect any improvement in audio quality but you should find you dont need to freeze tracks etc. I used to use JBridge a lot but did not bother on my new DAW as I have very few 32 bit only plugs, but I recently installed it to get Kitcore working again.

The only 32 bit plug in I use regularly is Minimonsta, its fine with bitbridge but I wish they would bring out a 64 bit version. However having recently acquired Monarch in Komplete 9 and the Arturia V bundle I do now have 2 64 bit Minimoog emulators.
