  • Why do use JBridge over BitBridge?? (p.2)

I like the availability of the Step Sequencer, ACT and other buttons with JBridge which are lost with BitBridge. Much more convenient in my view.

Those buttons aren't really lost. If you will hold down the Shift key when opening the plug-ins UI, a second BitBridge window will open that contains all of the buttons you mention.

Some of my vsts just would not work correctly under Bit Bridge, Drumagog, the Korg Legacy Suite. These are go-to plug-ins for me especially Drumagog.

You are able to get the Korg Legacy to work under Sonar 64 bit??  I cannot get them to install under Win 7 64 bit much less get the VSTs to scan without crashing much less get them recoginized by Jbridge..

musicman100, they scan fine for me, although it does slow the scan down (first scan) a bit when I had to run it. Which versions are you using? I have the original ones and all the updates. The only one that crashed SONAR since version 8 in 64 bit for me was the Legacy Cell, the others would just cause teleport server errors. Under jBridge they all work great.

Strangly enough, I just installed the Digital Edition of the Korg Legacy Collection that has the M1 and the Wavestation OK... and it did not ask for my registration .. very strange ....

Are you using the USB key? I have that for the digital edition and once the driver is installed they run fine. What I normally do is run all the programs in stand alone mode first as Admin outside of SONAR, then if it asks for the reg key I get it that way before ever opening SONAR and doing rhe vst scan.

No I purchased them and registered as challenge/response when I first installed them, since then I have seen they dont support C/R anymore, but I just tried scanning the VST plug ins of M1 and Waveststion under Sonar 64 and they crach ... I am tryinf the 32 bit version now , just to see if they will regiaster,, but that wont hwlp me , I run Sonar 64 .. the thing is I just opened the stand alone versions of M1 and W/S and they played fine, didnt ask for authorization or anything, I am confused right now.. BTW this is a brand new Win 7 64 bit professional O/S install so I lost all my keys and registry settings from my XP install where my Korg stuff used to reside ..

I've got the korg digital edition and have no problems at all with it. Also IIRC Korg DID revert to a challenge response system and lost the syncro key. At least that's what I did.

Mainly because I find it easier to use and definitelty makes the plugs look better

I've probably asked this question before but if you use JBridge instead of BitBridge....why??  It's been my experience that I haven't found a single plugin (and I've got tons) that runs better under JBridge than BitBridge.  I know everyone's system is different tho so what exact plugins "require" JBridge over BitBridge.  And/or what functionality do you gain using JBridge instead of BitBridge.  Genuinely curious.
I've never had a problem with B or J bridge.

That's probably because I don't bridge any of my x86 plug-in's and I don't own J bridge.

Honestly, the best solution would be to fire up X1 x86 and save yourself all the aggravation that goes along with bridging. It's one of those unnecessary evils that people put themselves through IMO.

If you want to work in a 64 bit environment, then freeze that track in X1 x86 and fire the project up in X1 x64.

Problems recording host automation with 32bit bitbridged plugs, of which I still have a few.

Also MIDI out problems, so with the likes of Realguitar you can enable midi out on the softsynth, and output that
to another instrument. Use the realguitar's pattern generator to double a guitar from another library etc.
Of course, now Musiclab has a 64 bit version so it's no longer a problem.
Doesn't work with bitbridge, both recording host automation and softsynth Midi-out seem to work fine using
jbridge on all the vsts I tried.
All those IK MM ones are all still 32 bit (last I checked anyway).

Slowly moving to 64 bit :-)
