Ha!  "Mute" Tool worked.  I dragged it across the top-half of each take and they unmuted.  I never use that tool, so it never occurred to me.

I'm not sure if this is new to X3 (I simply never noticed) but at the top of the Sonar window, near the middle, is a row of buttons (Mute, Solo, Record, and Input Echo). If you have anything muted anywhere in the project, the Mute button will be highlighted. Same for Solo, etc. You can hit any of those highlighted buttons to turn off muting, soloing, etc. throughout the project.
I'm unsure if this would have helped in your particular case, but if you ever run into this again, I'd be curious to know.

This is true IF the entire track is muted, but NOT if there are several clips in a track and only one or two are muted.

Look for the little red "slashed circle" in the upper left corner of the clip. The clip will also be "grayed" as noted above.

And YES, all clips are located in the project's "Audio" folder if you use 'Per Project Audio Folders' or the global "Audio" folder if not.
