This is an older song, off my first album,
that i am preparing to remix in the next couple of months,
to re-release digitally.

i'm looking for new mix ideas.
my first thought is that i want the drums kicking more,
and dial in the bass frequencies better,
cuz that's where the swing is.
:)

This is one of the coolest song titles that I've heard in a while.  Almost as cool as your playing and singing.  Are you sure it need to be remixed?  If you change something this good, go big.  Play it like you own it.

I'm with Lynn, not sure the mix could be improved, just changed. Yes, maybe some more drive from the drums and bass. I liked it a lot. Like your vocals too, maybe bring them out a touch more, but just in a few spots to highlight them.
If you really wanted to change it, I heard a doubling of the tempo towards the end that would ramp up the whole song to another level. Let the drums go ballistic and add some keyboard lead to feed off that great guitar work. Not sure if that's what you meant by a remix though.

thanks for listening lynn.

the remix, is just to make it fresh, and do a better mix than i was able to do with the system i had at the time (roland vs 1880 machine)

i plan on updating my DAW, once win 10 settles down, and upgrading to sonar pro when i do...
and remixing this album for a digital release, is how i want to break in the learning curve.

Mix-wise... sure, a bit more presence/punch on the drums, and maybe some automation on the vocals so they always ride on top.

Anyhow, as a song it seems done to me.  I think you're living up to your standards with this one.

thanks for commenting rebel,
that's an interesting idea about doubling the tempo....

that would totally work.

as it is, i'm not going to re-arrange any of the tracks (they all have live drums, i can't go back and retrack that anyway, my drummer i used lives in DFW, i'm in salt lake city)

but i may retrack a few guitars and vox tracks, but if anything, i'll strip down the original density of the mix,
make it more simple.

thanks steve...

well, this was one of my first 'digital' tunes, so it kinda set the standard for everything i've done to date.

but, i DO want to update the sound of this,
to get it into a new 'digital' package, i have to remix it from scratch anyway.....
proprietary data backup discs from a roland VS 1880 is not easy to work with.....
