Thank you, Sir Les.  I was finally able to see your posted photos above.  (to the original poster, please forgive me lumping this particular post into your thread, the power management parameter settings discussion overlaps from a prior thread Sir Les had posted, so when he posted here on those, I wanted to thank him for staying with trying to get his screen shots posted - which had been a frustration for him).
 
So, Sir Les, as I had indicated, I had NO idea that for whatever reason those parameters were not showing up on your system, as I had always found it - AND I had double-checked on both a Windows 7 system that I had, AND I had looked it up on the web and found the same parameters on another post about Windows 7.
 
I have been very careful since then to make sure I do not universally represent that those parameters are always present, since they obviously are not.  
 
There were some exchanges in that thread that got a bit testy, largely between you and Alex, although you and I had some frustrating moments as well.  I would hope that you keep whatever your thoughts about your exchanges with Alex separate from any of the back and forth that you and I had.
 
Thank you for taking the time to get things posted to confirm that on SOME systems, those parameters do exist, and that on SOME systems, they do not.  I currently have no explanation for that, and had not encountered that prior to my involvement with trying to help you in your thread.
 
I WILL be trying to figure out WHY that is the way it is with those settings, and will let you know if I ever DO figure it out.
 
 I TRULY hope your system gets stabilized - I don't want to get your thread and this one intertwined, so will try to limit my end of that, except for the overlap as we have had on this particular couple of Power Management settings, as I need to be fair to the original poster here, but I did want to post the above, as it does relate between the two threads, because I wanted to thank you for getting those screen shots posted (and the link works if you just take its innards and paste it into a new tab), and because I wanted to try to separate myself from comments made between you and Alex from comments made between you and I.

Hey Sir Les, if you want to use that iframe embed from Skydrive (is the way to get it to embed in a forum like this, otherwise you just get a link), you need to do it in HTML mode.  That mode is only in the "full version" of the forum editor, so if you are using the Quick Reply at the bottom of the forum, you need to click open full version.  Then, once there, click the HTML button, then paste the iframe code in there and update.  If you just post the HTML in main text body, it will show up like it did in your post since the forum software doesn't realize that you are posting HTML, where the HTML mode is aware.
 
You can fix the one you have up there, I think, by editing your post, cutting the iframe from the body, going to HTML mode, and pasting it back in there.

BTW: in Internet Explorer 11, it doesn't appear to work in the post/preview.  I imagine it would work once submitted, but I didn't test that.  Chrome did the preview fine.

oK...I Do not see a option in the windows update, as all I see is "windows is up to date" " Get updates for other Microsoft products". "View history" "Change settings" 'Control panel Home" "updates:  FAQ."...if there is a tab I have no idea how to get to the page You are referencing if no updates are there for me.....I know when updates are available there is a different pane that opens, and I can select the ones necessary ,or optional ones, and I have seen the optional page in past updates, and as I do update...I have downloaded all system updates required or mentioned in those panes / pages that are system specific...unless I feel they are redundant...Like Microsoft essentials, and internet explorer, and defender updates...So This tweak Alex mentions, has gone unknown till now, and I have to google something, download, and install to get it to show?...If the setting in Bios is set to all cores active...does this make the tweak redundant?...or does windows 7 pro fully updated bypass  Bios settings/tweaks these days?

Using PHOTOBUCKET...skydrive by Microsoft will not work here on these forums from what I have been doing...it seems to work with PB.

No worries Bob...I like learning...But..sometimes it gets into frantic states, when things start crashing and burning out, and sometimes heated thoughts get transmitted in error or ignorance ...when going in circles for so long as I have been,..one tends to flip out on little things said or done or implied...I meant no disrespect in our passages uttered..I only wanted to get things working quickly, so I could continue working on my 2xa projects which x3c sabotaged...well that is now put on hold...new things, new learning...and I do read the forums....So...here I am....blessings and mead in hand...looking forward to a new build soon...and hopefully help will not be necessary...but may come somewhere down up the road...wink

Yes Bob .BUT... If people are being asked to TWEAK.. turn something on or off or change the % and you direct them to something that is not there for some....it could cause hair to fall out or worse....and I have little left of that hair, and wish to retain what is left...burnt or otherwise...LOL..So when this sort of direction is uttered mindlessly to others who have no experience, and the same view as I,...I will dance the dance, I dance....just to keep things in the real states of some, but not all...and I will tie things to it, to make sure, the ones being directed to do, might not find it as mentioned...if not applying Alex's fix...which I still do not know what to google for to get it......So they can rest assured it's not their eyes playing tricks or being knowing all and not following direction right...ect.

Hey all - for what's worth, it seems that if you are in "high performance" mode, the 100% setting is automatically set as the minimum and maximum.  You can actually find the real settings for this at a command prompt if you are not convinced - I just checked this on my Windows 8.1 (x64) system and the setting is not there for me either but when checking in the cmd details, I see that it's set for full min and max.
 
I've also read that this option would be unavailable if you have Hyper-V enabled - which I hope you don't, as this will acutally cause your "actual" system to run as a Virtual Machine within Hyper-V as well as any additional VMs you might have setup.

Here are the instructions from that article:

It might be worth showing your full power scheme to the world:
- Open an Administrative command prompt (Right click start area, Command Prompt (Admin))
- Type PowerCfg /l - This will give a command line list of all your power schemas.
- The active schema will have a * at the end of it's entry: Make a note of the long number that schema has
- Type PowerCfg -query [Long Number you made a note of] >> "%UserProfile%\Desktop\PowerScheme.txt"
- On your desktop, there should be a notepad file called PowerScheme.txt - Open this file, copy the entire contents, and past it into a post. We can all have a look and try to see what's going on with you.
To Help you out, this is what my PowerCfg /l gave me:

In perticular, it will be intresting to see if your config has the Minimum processor state and Maximum processor state section. An example section is:

If you look, you will see the Minimum and Maximum processor state sections that show values.  64 is max.
 
As far as Hyper-V: it's for virtual machines.  The BIOS setting and the Windows setting are related where the windows settings relies on the BIOS setting to work properly.  You can go to the Windows control panel and look for the option to show what Windows features are enabled.  Hyper-V would be one of them.  If it's enabled, disable it.  If not, don't worry about it.  What I was saying above about the actual computer being a virtual machine is that once Hyper-V is enabled, the actual system being used becomes a virtual machine, hosted by the Hyper-V system within the computer.  This allows you to create multiple "containers" for multiple virtual machines (VMs) so you could run multiple operating systems within the same system (without dual boot).  It's really nice for some things, but for systems that a resource intensive, it's probably not a good idea to enable.  For standard operations, like Office software and the like, you probably wouldn't notice a performance difference, but for Gaming, Audio, Video, etc, it's less efficient at some level.
