Is that behaviour (LP64) not normal? I've always found that plug is only usable when I set up Sonar in "mix mode". I have to crank up the ASIO settings and the buffers for recording and midi. I always though of it as an off line type of effect. Too bad, because I really like what it does.

Well as John says (John meaning the first John as I see your name is John as well, just as well my name isn't John otherwise we will be over-John'd) the workaround is to freeze the synth which is best practice anyway....

Otherwise please try my steps to repro and find out for yourself (and maybe you can tell us what you think).

Cheers...

No problems with dropped MIDI notes here running LP-64 Multiband with Addictive Drums at 128 samples. FWIW dropped MIDI notes usually indicate the MIDI Prepare Using buffer is too low. The X-series defaults to 250ms, which is too low for many systems. The Pre-X default was 500, and still seems like the better starting point.

Dave that was it.

So my setting defaulted at 100, I increased it to 250. All is fine.
I have never needed to touch that setting until now, which is weird, thank you so much :)
LP-64 lives another day (and I learn something new everyday)!

Glad to help, but I think almost certainly you must have changed it at some point; the default has never been below 250. In any case, keep it in mind as you may find that in some circumstances 250 is still too low.

FYI - This is also the reason for the dropped MIDI notes on the "looping issue" the other day that you submitted a bug report for.

huh... I never even noticed those before!

I was actually referring to adding "(SOLVED)" or similar to the end of the thread title.  Just in case others (such as myself) aren't paying attention to those colored icons.

No need to any more the feature is built into the forums now (yey!), now if only that damn editor could be upgraded and the search timeout could be reduced by half (at least).

Thanks for your tips, invaluable. Haven't decided what to do yet... I know what I want but it is too much money so I'll look again at the alternatives. Maybe stick with LP-64 for a little while longer now I've got it working, I've got a feeling though I'm going to want to get something better and soon... Too bad about the sales.
