Hi all!
I have the V-Studio 100 with X3 studio.  Windows 8.
 
I am looking to add XLR inputs to the VS-100.  The Roland Octo-capture does this and specifically says so on the Roland website.  However, the octo-capture is more than I need.
 
I am wondering if the quad capture does this. I think it can, but it doesn't specifically say so on the website.
 
However it looks to me like the Quad and Octo use the same driver.  Here's the language:
 
Octo:

Can anyone give me a clear yes or no as to whether the quad will work simultaneously with the VS-100?  I know from experience that the Duo capture doesn't.  Thanks!

Not sure if this provides exactly the same functionality, but you can use the 3/4 coaxial out on the Quad to the 7/8 coax in on the VS-100 to get four channels.  You can also use the 1/2 output from the Quad as input to 2/3 on the VS-100.  I have done this with other external mixers to get six separate XLR inputs into sonar.  You can do this with any other mixer that you may already have.
 
While this is probably what you are after, I don't think that it gives the same tight integration that you get with the Octa Capture, but it does work.

OK, this sounds like using the Quad capture more like a submixer- something I had thought about.  Works, but doesn't get the full functionality.  Hmmm.  Might in the end have to go for the Octa-capture.
 
I think what I will do is wait until Roland e-mail support opens on Monday and see what they say.
