Time to remove the past and force the per project option methinks, at least for X4 :)
(in fact I've just put in a feature request for this).

"we did but not everyone reads this forum"
Hence the need for a white paper.
"force the per project option methinks"
I don't want to "force" anyone to do anything!
I just wish Rapture didn't "force" the installation of wav files to the C drive.
But that's OT...

Ah, Alex I still have projects with the old global audio folder. I don't want that to go unsupported.

Exactly (agreed). That's the only use case I see right now, but no doubt somebody will come another soon?

The second part of my question is opening a new project it then says audio is corrupt and been padded with silence now certain projects have audio (vocal) through one speaker and instrumental through the other. Those are projects that I have not moved around and have never been corrupted before???

btw hope eveyone has been able to relax over the holiday.

Thanks for the info in this thread, you guys.
I'm finally getting a handle of some of this stuff.

I hardly come on here when I first bought Sonar I was here all the time watching the conversations, I did not really know much about recording although I used Cubase  for a little while but never the full version. So after leaving the forums for a long time I started getting into recording and I can see the benefits. So I have learned my own way of doing things...so basic trial and error but its nice to know I can pop down into the forums to get answers.

I have called tech support so hopefully I can solve the problem however, I am a firm believer that if you lose files or files become corrupt that it is a sign that you are getting better so you move onward and upward.

That's an interesting view. I'm a firm believer that if you lose files or files become corrupt, you probably just jacked something up and, hopefully, you have a backup somewhere.
