Dear USERS ,
I am just starting to use SONAR X1 LE and was wondering if there is a way to mark actual CD tracks inside a Project.
I do have a 1 hour Life recording of a classical concert and after "Mastering" it  I would like to burn a CD without having to create a separate file for each movement of the "Piece" I recorded.

Some of the movements going "attaca" one after the other and separating them in different files wont practically work.
I dont want to have a Single file without any Track marks on the CD.

I know from my previous software I was using it was possible to set "Ranges of data" and mark them as actual CD-Tracks (pause marks were possible as well), so Doing or exporting it for CD burning would create a File having the Track Marks embedded so Burning of CD was a "piece of cake" so to speak.

I was trying to find anything about this in Tutorials or manuals and help files but nothing was really helpful.

Can Someone help me here with some advise.

Greetings
J

No. Unfortunately Sonar can not mark CD tracks.

Kalle,
It looks like you right because I did try it yesterday at home did not work .......
However this link in the Knowledge database suggest it differently...
I think if there is no function that allows me to create a CD directly from my continuous recording than SONAR is not the software I will use.. Had anyways only problems with it so far ... I don't understand that folks make so much fuzz about this software... I am totally disappointed. Will go back most likely to a "German" software brand which in in their already good 15 year old software version this function was standard.... Well well well ...never change the winning team right.....SORRY SONAR developers and Friends... I am a totally disappointed user...

Having just tasted the most limited LE version of a software, and throwing in an attitude like that just because of ONE feature is rather naive, I think.  There's no DAW on earth that has all you want in the order you want. After all, it's a DAW, not a CD-burning software. And what you're saying about Cubase (?) is not true, IIRC. And if you mean PT, it's even less true.
I'm sure you won't be missed ;o)

Kalle... not Cubase....I was just talking about Magix Samplitude / Sek'd software brand :-).. I was using the "lower End" version of "RedRoaster" and it literally had all what I just described to you and this 15 years ago... OK.... was running 24bit / 96 resolution with 32 bit internal..
And I ended only with Sonar Because of the OCTACAPTURE I recently purchased after my Symetrix pre amps started to show weaknesses... was just trying something new...
I stay with my statement ... and am really disappointed...

And YES ===Why the Tutorial shows that you can mark Track indexes and create an export file that would burn tracks separately depending on the index number or title.???? Is like promising something that can not deliver... RIGHT. :-)

It is so simple to export each of the "songs" and then use a proper CD burning software to complete the project. Sonar is a Multi track recording studio and is very good at that. Other tasks are best performed on the software designed for that task. Would you use MS Word to run a Power point presentation?

If all you are doing is recording Stereo then I would use Wave Lab or something similar. Then you'll have better wave editing and all the tools you are needing. Wave Lab Elements is only around $80.
