I am missing something...After upgrading Kontakt is NOT being nice...Diva has left me in Rapture land, looking into different Dimensions at Zebras over the hills.... BUT Kontakt???..OY!   I'm sure it's one of those "DUH!!!" moments...
 
 I'm unable to get either K4 or 5 to "hear" midi coming from my kbd controller or X3...  ie, midi notes playing ok in rapture track(or whatever) wont play in K4/5 when moved to their track (K4 or5)
 
Kontakt will play thru Sonar via it's own cutsey keyboard (won't record it or play it back per above)...meters run just fine...
I've buttoned ever button on K4&5 to find the frackin' answer...
 
and of course, K is the wrapper for a zilling things I have...

I am a Kontakt negit, but John posted a link to this thread a while ago for X1. Not sure if it will help or not.
 
Edit: I pulled the thread above from this one, which also has other info in it.

Already in my subscription folder and no search surfaced it... but... I remembered long ago... something about when first reinstalling kontakt you had to use it outside of your daw to set up midi...
 
Just tried this, and Viola!!! NOTE TO NI... why isn't this function available from within a DAW???? 
 
Literally, It now all comes back to me... an entire evening trying to get my earlier Kontakt to play and I just did it again... a user interface flaw that still exists today... yea, I'm kinda ancient! 

LOL, as long as it makes sounds, is all good
