I do not know what version of SONAR you are using but I just loaded up the midiCurve VST and it works in X3d Producer 64bit. Here is what I did:
1) Loaded midiCurve in an audio track FX bin. Even though it scans as a synth, just like any plug-in it can go in an audio FX bin. Might even work if the VST properties are changed from synth to effect but I did not experiment with it. Make sure to enable MIDI output.
2) Created a MIDI track setting input from keyboard, output to midiCurve
3) Inserted a synth (I used Audio+MIDI track not an instrument track) set MIDI input to midiCurve.
I'm also on X3d 64, should have mentioned that earlier...
So... trying things... let's see...
1) I can put midiCurve in an audiotrack FX bin.
2) I can create a midi track and have my input be my MIDI keyboard or whatever, and set the output to midiCurve.
3) I create a MIDI track to drive my softsynth... but I can't set the input of that track to midiCurve. It just doesn't show up as an option.
Attempt 2... this time...
1) I start with midiCurve as a softsynth, creating an audio output and midi track.
2) With this as opposed to the earlier attempt, I can choose midiCurve as an input for my MIDI track to drive softsynth.
3) I set the input echo on my midiCurve MIDI track to on.
4) Record enable on MIDI track driving softsynth. (input echo doesn't not need to be on here)
5) IT WORKS!
Okay... so slightly clunky and it takes up some space I'd rather it not, but hey. I seem to be getting these VST MIDI effects to work. Thank you. :)
