Nice!   Some of the guitar oriented themes remind me of the band Extreme (who I happen to like).   It is a little "different" in the way the themes seem to switch rather than melding into each other, but I think that's what you were going for.    About the only negative I could add is that it doesn't seem very "destructive", but hey, that doesn't take anything from what you've created.

Planobilly, Thanks for the listen and for your comments, they are both appreciated very much. And yes, you are right, it is just an interpretation of a time and a place in world events, but one so many people haven't gotten yet, so it could fall into a category for the uninformed.

whack, Just goes to show you can't please all the people all the time. Don't forget, I create these for a video playing in my minds eye and of course you may create your own video (thru the music) in your minds eye, that is different from mine. I guess that is what makes art so special and individualized. It is a real ride though and hope you enjoyed it.

stevec, Thanks for the listen and comments, they are much appreciated. The destruction maybe behind a whisper and some themes meld into one another while others switch with the different scenes playing in my mind. Also, I was trying something different here, and when I figure it out, I will let you know.

this sounds good, as far as the mix goes......

sounds very influenced by action movie soundtracks,
and maybe a bit of 'run' from pink floyd's 'the wall'

it does come off more as a 'soundtrack', than a song.....
it switches gears in a way that seems disjointed for a proper 'song',
but fine with a movie type flow.....

this sounds good, but is not very cohesive as a 'written' song.

it's more like 'found art', where you cut out cool pictures of different stuff,
and glue them all on a large board to create a bigger piece.

i cannot really understand this sort of writing....
there is nothing that ties any of it together.
i think it would be much more effective, if you tied it all together with a sung melody.
just something to think about.

John,
Wow, cool stuff here for sure!  The first jump in the motif of the tune shook me for a second but then I got into it as it shifted back and forth.  Very U2 meets Jan Hammer--ish for sure.  Would make a great music foundation for an extreme sports video...not that we have to pigeon-hole the tune.  Mix sounds good on my system and the performances were flawless.  Very fun.  Nice work!

Hey Gonzo, This is for sure painting a bigger picture from many smaller pictures and then taking it into the digital printer and blowing it up into a larger format through specialized mastering. The file is loaded only as 192mp3 into soundclick and converted to a 128mp3, yet the sound has pretty much kept all of its original values. It is because the various values learn through the conversion process and change accordingly.

All my work is for video, but I don't have a videographer to work with and having this cancer doesn't make things any better . I can't play my guitars, because of the tingling side effects, so I just have to do the best I can due with the software that I have.

Whether it be for action, drama, sports, there are many, many pictures playing in my minds eye all the time, so I just put the music to that, and most likely that the only play it will be seen. Like you, you already envisioned a sports thing, Pink Floyd possibility, action feeling/vibe, so maybe you understand it more than you think.

Anyway, glad you found it interesting.

Peace and Blessings, John

By the way, have a 1971 Gibson SG1 for sale. You can view it on my sound click page. Have a peek!!

Sounds awesome man, really cool painting too. I like the idea of the different musical excerpts being snapshots, seems highly appropriate for the 21st century lifestyle. What elements were recorded and what was sequenced, if you don't mind me asking?
