Lynn,

Cool song and superbly performed.  I agree with the previous mix suggestions.  Would also bring up the drums a bit.

Great stuff Lynn - really creative.
I think the main vocal could come up slightly/drop the fx mix slightly in the "Follow the river' sections.
Small crit though - really good stuff.

Are you listening on headphones?

Hi Lynn, yeah, I'm afraid I was... Still sounded good though

Very cool song Lynn!  I agree with most every ones comments.  REALLY like your guitar playing.  Very tasteful and excellent tones.  Vocals could come up, just a touch.  Vocals sound excellent other than that.

@Tom, Mesh, Wookie, Bat, Grant, Mark, and Daryl, thanks a million for your helpful replies.  I have taken your suggestions and made the changes.  I boosted the vocals a bit, and turned up the synth pads on the edges of the stereo.  As the lead vocal in the choruses is run through the vocorder, which is a synth in its own right, I can't separate the synth from the voice, but I did lower the volume of the carrier (synth).  I  hope this works, but I can easily change it.

Really cool song, Lynn.  It's got a bit of a dark and swampy vibe happening without actually being swampy, if that makes sense.   And the chorus is catchy!  Just solid work all around with this one from writing to arrangement to performance to mix.    Oh, and love the gong at about 2:30.

Hey Lynn!

Very cool, but as others have said, the vocoder steps all over your vocal. I'd suggest running the vocoder through channel tools and widening them so they are no longer sitting in the middle. Maybe a gentle flange on them as well.

Move the sax further right with a reverb echo on the left.

Just my $.02 ;)

Regards,
Dan

my comment is "yay".

I love a loud track and this def a loud track. The only "distortion" (i.e. bad) is in that opening morphed vocal line. Later it's better.

Tasty guitar work Lynn. Maybe add just a tad distortion? That would give it that Gilmour feel.

This is an awesome song Lynn. One of best I've heard on this forum at the moment.
I'd have to agree and say that your vocals could be more up front and present, as they are the hero, and you sing them so well. I am listening on headphones and am finding the panning to be a bit too much on some instruments, would probably be ok on the monitors though. Nice work.

Steve, thanks for the kind words.  There are a lot of swamps near some major rivers.

Dan, I like your ideas and will give them a spin on the next pass.  Thanks for contributing.

Ed, thanks for your reply.  I like the idea about adding a little distortion to the guitar so will give it a try.

Wayne,  thanks for your kind words and ideas.  I'll work on the vocal.  The separation from the panning does indeed work better on speakers.  I'll look for a compromise.

Thanks again to all, and stayed tuned for more to come.
