You're all really old, aren't you. Most folks best times were 30 - 40 years ago!

But hey, I'm right there with ya'. There's no point in posting my list as it's similar to everyone else's. I loved the prog of course, but sprinkle in some Americana from The Boss, Buddy Guy, B.B., The Beach Boys and Santana. Season to taste with Canadians like Rush, Heart, Max Webster and Neil Young.

The Ones That Got Away:
Zepplin
The Stones
Jimmy Hendrix
Stevie Ray Vaughn - Biggest regret

Oh, and I just saw that the Jesus & Mary Chain are releasing their first album in 20-something years.
I saw them live at a festival.  Wasn't a fan until I saw their stage performance.  Now they're a favourite.

I will list only concerts that had an "Impact" on me;
Hendrix, Hollywood Bowl Aug '68
Alice Cooper, Pasadena Rose Palace Jan '70; musically, yawn, but Vince did hack a mannequin up with an ax
Mothers, Pauley Pavilion Aug '71, you can hear part of that performance on Just Another Band from LA
Aerosmith, Tacoma Dome Oct '94, took my then 16 year old daughter, finally brought home for me why I
wasn't a rock star. Smith is actually a pretty good band when Steven leaves the stage, with Steven amazing!
Santana, White River Amphitheater Sept '08, Carlos'  band ROCKS, best live band since The Mothers in '71
Everything else, Yawn...

Kenny,

I turned down offers to audition for Hall & Oats and Uriah Heap (both in ~1978). Hall & Oats were kind of rising up and I couldn't stand them and Uriah Heap was trying to make a comeback of sorts.

Why did you turn down the Uriah Heep audition?

Combination of gun shy (hadn't played out in like 5 years) and not really "into" that band.

Ed,
I'm glad James asked you why you made those decisions since I forgot to ask ...
I figured it may have been something to do with the small details / particulars along those lines
all the best,

Kenny

These are all I can remember

Jethro Tull
Billy Joel
Paul McCartney
Seals and Crofts
Heart
****Little River Band****
Eagles
Elton John

Opened for the Little River Band and Head East this past summer.  Had an absolute blast.
Tour manager for Head East is a great guy... so we'll probably do it again when they pass thru.

Yes, getting up there.

Funny enough, I did most of my concert going between the ages of 25 to 35.  I grew up in very northern Minnesota about 3 1/2 hours from any large concert venues; so for my first 25 years I saw only one live concert.  Rush, Grace Under Pressure was my first ever, in the 80's.

Short and sweet: Grand Funk in '71, Mott The Hoople opened; Ten Years After in early '72. Jeff Beck in '80 or '81, Rick Danko opened. David Gilmore around '87. Pearl Jam about a decade ago.
I decided early on that I don't like crowds.
