Interesting everyone saw rock shows.

Not true if you read the lists closely.

True!  Paper and scissors shows were included.

Kenny and Ken are the only others that mentioned non traditional rock (I include blues in rock).  And no one mentioned classical.

Not that it really matters, but my list includes several folk artists, a couple of reggae acts and people like Al Jarreau, David Sanborn and Lee Ritenour, who are definitely not rock.

Not sure why ken brought it up!  It doesn't matter!

I mentioned the Gypsy Kings in my list (definitely not rock)........possibly their version of Hotel California has made a severe impact on how some of us view genre's?

Also, I was right in the middle of the mosh pit when The Platters/Temptations were rocking the house.

Either you and ken are mad I didn't read your lists carefully enough, or you're obsessive about details..  Either way, this is our poly tickal system at work.  Misconstruing assertive statements to one's advantage.  It's all straw.

It's all cool David. I didn't wish to come across as mad. My mis-interpetation of your statement. The facts are probably accurate that most of us here are from rock influences and rock acts do dominates the lists. I do feel fortunate though that I have seen some non-rock acts in the past which are highlights to me. One in particular was having the opportunity to see Bill Monroe (Father of Blue Grass) in an intimate setting some years back (Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago). So many musical masters are now gone.

I was lucky that I saw Chet Atkins before he passed away.  I saw him in winston-salem NC at a small venue.  Bill Monroe would have been stellar.

Yes. Another great one. I had tickets to see him and the show was cancelled due to he was ill. This was just before he passed.

And, a ton more... My ticket stub box has a little over 3000 tickets in it when I counted about four years ago. Strangely enough, I've never seen Kiss. That's high on the priority list the next time they come through Texas.
