  • Community Gobbler?

After being frustrated with trying to help folks on seemingly project specific issues, I am wondering if a community Gobbler account is feasible. Obviously it creates its own level of access issues, but would be helpful to see things directly for folks who choose to use that route. Since it would be more a "temporary sharing" feature the need for a long term backup is N/A. A utility to perhaps only access it via SONAR, etc. would also help potential spam issues.

Just a thought here. Trying to envision and troubleshoot via text only can be a bear.

To ease another concern here... folks can also save projects with new names, lop all tracks off a "X" bars, and replace audio (just the audio portion) with "junk audio," etc. so that "project specific" issues can be looked at by others.

Interesting idea.  I think this is worth writing up a feature request for both Cakewalk and for Gobbler.  Some kind of un-published collaboration area.

Can't understand the point to be honest when you have www.wetransfer.com, just upload... post the link... done.
Gobbler accounts need to be managed by people (otherwise files are just left all over the shop), wetransfer doesn't (files are automatically deleted after a period of time), and it's a facility available right here right now...

Alex - the biggest difference would be that Gobbler bundles up all of the related files in a project so that the receiver has all of the data needed for the project (sans VSTs).  With wetransfer, the person with an issue would need to upload all of the files for someone else to replicate the issue or save the project as a bundle and upload the bundle.  bundling seems to affect things.

Not sure of your point...
What could be simpler?

File -> Save As -> Cakewalk Bundle
www.wetransfer.com
Enter email addresses (same email address).
Wait for upload and receive link via email
Point person to link.

Oh and BTW If you don't want to bundle you can always ZIP up a project... Cheers...
