Hi All,

I've just finished creating these instrument files.
I've included an expanded URL here (since I can't use a normal one):

h t t p : / / j a l o j a s h . o r g / c a k e w a l k /

Thx,
Jim

Hey there, Jim: I would love to have those instrument files. I just bought the Yamaha PSR E-433 and I can figure out how to get my keyboard sounds to record in Cakewalk Music Creator 6.  Hope your files will help!  Thanks a million.

I just picked up an INS file for my Yamaha DGX-505 here:

Still need one though for Roland SPD-30 though, that will probably never happen because I can't be bothered to create one, Roland wouldn't supply one either :) I admire the patience of those who can do here :).

Sparkey,

I've edited my original posting to include an expanded URL.
I don't know what you mean by "get my keyboard sounds to record"?
All this file does is provide Cakewalk products with a MIDI instrument definition for these synthesizers.
You can't import the sound files from this keyboard.

Jim,

I'm new to Cakewalk and music production so please, bear with me.  I want to play my Keyboard (Yamaha PSR E-433) and have it recorded into a track in Music Creator 6 Touch.  I can see the input from keyboard moving the meters when I arm the track and play and record but no sound plays back from that track.  I don't understand how to get the recorded track to play back.

Hi Mike, and welcome! There is another thread posted that you may want to check out (http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/2954809). It sounds like you are trying to record MIDI (note info), but not hearing sound (audio). Check out that thread, as there are some good explanations, and please feel free to post any more questions. MIDI tends to confuse many from the get-go, but we have all been there.

Merry Christmas!

Mike - Mettelus has it right - MIDI is very confusing for beginners (some instruments and applications are unhelpful here, too). The INS files I built help Sonar (and possibly MusicMaker - I'm unsure) communicate with your keyboard properly in the context of instrument choices and voicing. It won't help you with recording problems.

G'luck!

Hey, Folks, I finally figured it out...sort of.  At least I've got my keyboard and all its voices to record and play back in my song!  Thanks for all the kind words and points to threads.  I'm sure I'll be back with more questions!  Happy Holidays to All!!

NEW POST --Hello to all - need some assistance (if possible). I'm using a PC with Win7 and music Creator 6 Touch. I have a Yamaha PSR E-433 keyboard with only USB out (NO MIDI OUT port). When I insert a Cakewalk TTS-1 Soft Synth track I can only get the keyboard to play on Channel 1 of the TTS. No matter which Channel I choose in Preferences/Output/Channel the system always defaults to Yamaha PSR E-433 Instruments in the "Uses Instrument" box in Preferences.  How do I access the other channels on the TTS-1?

PC running Win7, Music Creator 6 Touch, Yamaha PSR E-433 keyboard, Blue Yeti USB mic.
