If you have any flow at all from your creek/little river, you could put in a small water wheel and get some electricity from it too (an amazing amount considering).

good advice-otherwise known as a Pelton Wheel-we had one rigged up to a car alternator but the waterflow was not constant year round where yours is-add a bank of lithium batteries and an inverter and the shed could be off-grid.
cheers

A studio separate from the house. You'll need an alarm. Know anyone in the alarm business?

And probably some stuff on the windows and all that ... some serious security would be good, like some well placed cameras way out of sight?

Super nice ... and coming along just even better!

Talk about "vision" ... that's almost scary, but very cool!

Thanks for the replies.

I will be starting it up after we get the house out there and officially "move in". No way would I put my gear and computers out there without living there. It's just too remote for that.

Yep... it's wired for power, internet and security system. The studio and shop security will tie in to the home system once we get the house out there.  It will be internet and radio networked to the central station.... besides that, there will be dogs running around the place and in the house as well.  Gate on the driveway and cameras to record the activities going on. (I'm in the security business so it's a given that the system will be "capable".)

Now, I just need to get some inspiration to write some songs again.

Looks great Herb.
Sounds like a wonderful piece of property and plans of action.

Nothing like having a "man cave".
Our phones are intercom so it's nice to have communication to/from the house.
I didn't have that in my old studio. I also didn't have a security system. What I did do when building it; I made the windows narrow and long making it almost impossible for a thief to use. I stored all my guitars in hollowed out Coke machine. Those things are like a safe.
It had one very solid door with deadbolts that took a key on either side. Very bad thing for a home but fitting for studio. I figured if a thief made it in it would have to be thru a wall. If small enough to fit into via window he'd have to exit that way too and that would be very hard handling equipment too. Very time consuming and we know that's a major factor to a thief.
All windows and door face the house and also had a yard dog that one really didn't want to deal with.

"Power" is an important factor. I'm sure you've got a handle on filtering and stabilizing it.

Unless you're there every day, an alarm system might be a good idea now.
You may show up one day and find it occupied by squatters.

By the way, let me know when you're finished. I'd like to visit your new place, but don't want to be put to work.
