ZZ Top (missed them at Blues Passions)

Saw ZZ Top twice, first time was the 'Afterburner' tour at Wembley. They played a perfunctory 50 minute (!) set, never said a word to the audience, walked off, house lights came up, no encore. Never found out what that was all about.

2nd time was at Milton Keynes Bowl ('Recycler' was out) headlining with Bryan Adams, Thunder, The Law and Little Angels - completely different vibe, 2 hour set, loads of banter and energy, 3 encores.

Hi,

None really. As I have stated before I have only had a desire for seeing the likes of Mike Oldfield, Peter Hammill (w/ or wo/ VdGG), Ryuichi Sakamoto and Vangelis.

As much as I like many of those bands mentioned here, so few of the European bands that SHOULD have made it to America never did ... so I never had the chance. Only one I missed would have been Mani Neumeier with that one thrash band, and I would have interviewed him ... other than that I'm good. I saw enough to know the difference.

I love ZZ. I started calling my wife puta in 75' cuz I thought it mean dark hair. Then I found out I was right all along

If nothing else, it does show why the Kinks were not more than they were.

Saw them both. Rest assured Billyboy, they were good.
